Our volunteer Stephen is back with another blog post. We hope you all enjoy

I think I've become a Bwyd Da Môn evangelist! Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if all the volunteers and staff here are the same. You know when you see a new film or hear some singer or band you like and just naturally tell your friends how good it was? Well, there I was having a nice little bite in Aberffraw the other Sunday with some people I'd only met just before, and somehow I end up telling them all about it, and how ordinary people like me can help by serving in the shop or taking in deliveries. And once again, like others I've told before, they get really interested, ask where the shop is, and what the deal is, and which food and drink retailers are involved. Having said that, though, because it's a good news story from start to finish, I guess it's not something you are going to say anything but good about, is it, anyway? From the customer's point of view - and let's face it, that's the critical thing, you have to keep your customers happy - the great thing about Bwyd Da Mon is that it offers such a big part of anyone's weekly shop at a really amazingly low price. And I know from experience they do all sound happy. Meanwhile, along with all the other related initiatives around the UK, it adds up to a real contribution to people's welfare and food economy. I could even get really serious about it and mention all the massive challenges which countries are facing right now to cut down consumption of natural resources - the better we look after what we have and produce, the safer for everyone. I don't know about all the local foody things around the UK that are helping like Bwyd Da Mon, but just as the country has been switching to renewable energy like wind and solar, who knows, we are likely to see a lot more new thinking about food production and usage in coming years... But coming back down to earth, and to the good news of having Bwyd Da Mon just here in Llangefni, I want to say what a great job the staff and other volunteers have done to serve the island's community like they do, and to want to see it develop even more. So, if you haven't enquired about becoming a customer, or even a volunteer for that matter, why not get in touch? That's the only way to find out what it's all about...
